Daiki Axis Bangladesh Successfully Implements Johkasou STP at Hotel Sayeman Heritage.

PROJECT INFORMATION

Project Name: Hotel Sayeman Heritage
Category: Johkasou STP
Capacity: 80 m3/day
Location: Cox’s Bazar
Client: Gasmin Limited
Year: 2021

Details Of This Project

Daiki Axis Bangladesh is a sewage treatment plant operator in Bangladesh. We successfully installed a Johkasou Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) at the Hotel Sayeman Heritage. There is a DAIKI AXIS Johkasou BA 80 module. There are two tanks for BA 80 (80 m3/day). A raw water tank is present with screening and agitation. The modules are made of FRP (fiber-reinforced plastic). There is a treated water tank at the end. 6 blowers, and for controlling the pumps and blowers there is a control unit.

Features of this STP Project

  • DAIKI AXIS Johkasou BA 80 module with a capacity of 80 m³/day.
  • Two tanks are used for the BA 80 system.
  • Raw water tank equipped with screening and agitation to prepare sewage for treatment.
  • Modules made of FRP (Fiber Reinforced Plastic) for durability and corrosion resistance.
  • Treated water tank at the end for storing the purified water.
  • 6 blowers for aeration during the treatment process.
  • A control unit to manage and regulate the operation of the pumps and blowers.

Process Flow of the STP

The Johkasou STP at the Hotel Sayeman Heritage follows a systematic treatment process:

  1. Separation Box: Separate solids in wastewater by gravity and prevent the agitation of the excess sludge in Sedimentation & Separation Chamber by influent.
  2. Separation & Sedimentation Chamber: Separate solid debris or impurities from water in influent and circulated water and store these sediments in the chamber. Accumulated sludge should be desludged from the tank periodically at least once in 6–12 months.
  3. Anaerobic Chamber: It is filled with filter materials, which separate solids and keep anaerobic microorganisms to decompose organic matter.
  4. Moving Bed Chamber: It is filled with mesh cylindrical media, which retain aerobic microorganisms to decompose and remove organic matter from wastewater.
  5. Sedimentation Chamber: In order to obtain clear treated water, separate the excess sludge (suspended solids, SS) by gravity. The settled sludge is constantly returned to the sedimentation & separation chamber by the airlift pump.
  6. Disinfection Chamber: Disinfect the treated water to discharge to the river or other water bodies.

The entire system operates seamlessly, ensuring effective sewage treatment with minimal environmental impact.

Why STP need for everywhere in Bangladesh?

Sewage Treatment Plants (STP) are very important for Bangladesh to keep the environment clean and safe. With more people and industries growing every day, untreated sewage is causing serious problems. Dirty water from homes and factories often goes into rivers and ponds, making them unsafe for drinking, farming, or fishing. This pollution also harms fish and plants.

STP clean this dirty water, removing harmful things before it goes back into nature. Without proper treatment, sewage can spread diseases like cholera and diarrhea, putting many lives at risk. In crowded cities, STPs help manage waste, prevent bad smells, and stop water from flooding the streets. They also protect our natural surroundings and make sure water stays usable for future generations. As floods and rising sea levels become bigger challenges, STPs are needed to keep communities safe and healthy. Investing in STPs is an investment in a better, cleaner Bangladesh.

Bangladesh’s Urgent Need for Wastewater Treatment Solutions

Bangladesh, with its many rivers, relies on these waterways for farming, fishing, and transportation. But rapid growth in cities and industries has caused serious pollution. Rivers like the Buriganga are so polluted they can no longer support life, and others like the Shitalakhya, Turag, and Balu are also in danger.

Right now, only about 405 rivers are still active, and many of them are at risk due to pollution and illegal activities. This is a serious problem that needs to be solved quickly.

To protect our rivers, Bangladesh needs to adopt better wastewater treatment methods. One effective solution is the Johkasou system, which helps clean wastewater before it reaches the rivers. Here’s how it can help:

  • Cut down on pollution: By cleaning wastewater before it flows into the rivers, we can reduce pollution.
  • Help nature recover: Cleaner rivers will bring back fish and other wildlife, helping the environment heal.
  • Follow the rules: The Johkasou system meets the standards set by the Department of Environment (DoE) and Environmental Conservation Rules (ECR), making sure wastewater is safely treated.

It’s crucial for Bangladesh to act now. Treating wastewater will not only clean up our rivers but also protect public health and create a safer environment for everyone.

A Sustainable Future for Bangladesh

Investing in wastewater treatment isn’t just about cleaning up rivers—it’s about building a healthier, more sustainable future for Bangladesh. Taking action now can help preserve the country’s rivers, improve water quality, and protect the livelihoods of millions of people who rely on these waterways.
